Jakarta as a capital city of Indoensia has many landmark, one of them is Monumen Nasional (National Monument). Monas Park is Jakarta's best known landmark. The 137 meter National Monument (Tugu Monas) is located in the center of Merdeka Square.
Monas is always bustling with people and a myriad of activities every Sunday. The dancing fountain located to west of Tugu Monas never fails to amaze the crowds every Saturday and Sunday evening. From the observation deck, you can enjoy a 360 degree panorama of the city. You can also tour the dioramas in the basement that portray Indonesia's dramatic history.

If you intend to climb to the top of Monas, I suggest to choose a day other than a holiday. Because usually during holidays many who traveled there and certainly will be long lines if you want to the top of Monas. For three years I have not had time to ride in Jakarta Monas because queued boring.
